Cartesian partners with WestGene to advance in vivo CAR-T therapies for autoimmune diseases

Cartesian Therapeutics announced a strategic licensing agreement with WestGene Biopharma to develop next-generation in vivo CAR-T treatments, combining WestGene's lipid nanoparticle platform with Cartesian's mRNA payload technology. A clinical trial is expected to begin in the second half of 2026 with results anticipated in early 2027, potentially expanding treatment options for autoimmune diseases beyond current ex vivo cell therapy approaches.
