FDA Approves NORVIR — AbbVie Inc.

AbbVie Inc. announced on February 10, 2010, that the FDA approved the extended-release oral formulation of Norvir (ritonavir) for pediatric patients to improve treatment adherence and provide long-term viral suppression. The approval of this BID dosage is expected to broaden Abbott’s HIV/AIDS portfolio and offering a more convenient regimen that may drive improved market share in the antiretroviral space.
